Hiking

Surrounded by the Rofan and Karwendel mountains, the region around Lake Achen is a true hiking haven. Hikers benefit from 500 km of well-signposted and well-maintained paths ideal for leisurely family hikes as well as more challenging mountain climbs. The first few metres in height can be comfortably ascended with the Rofan cable car and the Karwendel mountain railway.

Keen cyclists as well as ambitious mountain bikers can look forward to more than 250 km of cycle paths around Lake Achen. Watersports

With its crystal clear water, Lake Achen is not only a stunning sight but also offers many watersports options against majestic mountain scenery. Enjoy summer water temperatures of up to 22°C whilst swimming or benefit from the great wind conditions and try sailing or wind or kite surfing or explore Tyrol’s biggest lake by SUP or boat.

Skiing

Enjoy speedy piste descents with marvellous views over Lake Achen. The region offers 53 kilometres of pistes in three small and popular skiing areas including the Christlum ski region which is only a short walk from the apartment. The pistes, which are mainly nice and wide, are very family-friendly and perfect for beginners as well as those who haven’t been skiing for a while.

Cross-country skiing

For cross-country skiers, the region is a varied winter haven with plenty of opportunity for sporting fun. More than 200 kilometres of cross-country ski paths of various difficulty levels await beginners as well as advanced skiers. And the Schrambacherhof is situated directly by the path which leads through the valley. The banks of the lake are also ideal for panoramic skiing with breathtaking views.
